What is ECO?

The Energy Company Obligation (ECO) is a Government scheme to obligate larger suppliers to deliver energy efficiency measures to domestic premises in Britain. The scheme is funded by major Energy Companies who have been obligated to provide funding for heating and insulation improvements.

There are three types of ECO funding:

  1. Home Heating Cost Reduction Obligation (HHCRO)
  2. Carbon Emissions Reduction Obligation (CERO)
  3. Carbon Saving Community Obligation (CSCO)

Greendealshop.com focuses on the HHCRO scheme

What is the HHCRO scheme?

  • Also known as ‘Affordable Warmth,’ HHCRO is designed to tackle fuel poverty amongst private sector householders
  • Homeowners and private renting tenants, that are in receipt of qualifying state benefits, will qualify for funding towards
    insulation and heating upgrades
  • The funding is used to support the poorest and most vulnerable residents and focuses primarily on new heating systems and
    boiler replacements
  • HHCRO cannot be used in Social Housing such as council and housing association rentals
  • Unlike other ECO schemes, HHCRO is measured in estimated fuel bills savings (Lifetime Savings (LTS)), rather than carbon
savings. The more money a measure will save a resident, the more the LTS and the higher the funding

For a property to qualify for HHCRO there are four main criteria:

  1. A member of the Affordable Warmth Group
  2. With a qualifying boiler or other qualifying measures such as insulation
  3. In a private domestic premises
  4. Energy savings will result from having a new boiler

A&D Heating Services Ltd have now worked alongside Greendealshop for sometime. Our experience from day one has been nothing but perfect.
We started as a very small company and was given a chance by Greendealshop with a contract which was daunting and scary to say the least. But with the guidance support and prompt payment structure that’s in place, we are growing and expanding all the time. We also feel part of a very large team not only with Greendealshop but the other installer partners they employ as well who circulate any ideas that make the overall process simpler. Thank you for giving us this opportunity from all at A&D.
